Building Stronger Pathways from Education to Career

In 2017, the Central New York School Boards Association (CNYSBA) proudly became an official affiliate of the Manufacturers Association of Central New York (MACNY). Together, we are connecting education and industry—preparing today’s students for tomorrow’s careers right here in Central New York.

A Shared Mission

Through our collaboration with MACNY’s Workforce Development Team, CNYSBA supports efforts to attract, prepare, and retain individuals for rewarding careers in New York State. By aligning educational priorities with regional workforce needs, we’re helping strengthen the economic foundation of our communities.

Closing the Skills Gap

MACNY and its affiliate organization, Partners for Education and Business (PEB), are leading the way in addressing the skills gap through innovative initiatives such as:

• P-TECH (Pathways in Technology Early College High School)
• CTE (Career and Technical Education)
• The Manufacturers Intermediary Apprenticeship Program (MIAP) — registered through New York State

These programs engage students early, connect them with area colleges and employers, and provide hands-on experiences that lead to meaningful, sustainable careers in advanced manufacturing and related industries.

Collaboration in Action

Our partnership allows CNYSBA to serve as a bridge between local school districts and the business community. By sharing insights, opportunities, and success stories, we help ensure school board members are informed about evolving workforce trends and the many pathways available to CNY students after graduation.
